The Serendipity 43 was designed by Doug Peterson to compete in the 1980 Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC). These yachts were built by New Orleans Marine of a new epoxy composite. The design was strengthened by airex filled horizontal and vertical ribs in addition to seven 360 degree bulkheads. This design is noted for its light weight, strength, flexibility and double digit speed. *** Much of the content in this blog is from people who have experience with these amazing boats.

Last I heard Sue and Gene were in Turkey with Peregrine
Hi, Peregrine is currently in Rome with plans to "go west" in July.

Peregrine has just completed the Atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia in 21 days, mostly under reduced headsail with no main. Dead downwind in 20-plus knot average breeze.
Thanks for the update, Gene -- if you have any pics you'd like to share, drop me an email at mattdrayer(at)hotmail(dot)com and I can post them on the site.

ArPeregrine completed her circumnavigation in Zihuatanejo, Mexico on March 10, 2014.
