The Serendipity 43 was designed by Doug Peterson to compete in the 1980 Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC). These yachts were built by New Orleans Marine of a new epoxy composite. The design was strengthened by airex filled horizontal and vertical ribs in addition to seven 360 degree bulkheads. This design is noted for its light weight, strength, flexibility and double digit speed. *** Much of the content in this blog is from people who have experience with these amazing boats.

Scarlett O'Hara-New Owners
May 6. 2012
The new owner is named Poalo Conconi and he lives in Kuala Lumpur. He's and Italian businessman who has lived in Asia for many years. He and his family plan to sail Scarlett recreationally between Malaysia and Thailand. He has little sailing experience, but loves the boat. We are happy she found a good home. She is being kept in Pankor Marina about 3 hours south of KL. It is new, built about a year or two ago and is full now!

Hi, This is Paolo Conconi, with my wife Simone we are the proud new owners of Scarlett O'Hara. The boat is now registered in Langkawi and will be sailing the Asian seas on our free time. We are based in KL.
ReplyDeleteWill update on some works and ideas we are trying to fit into Scarlett.
Best of Luck to you and the Beautiful Lady! Raced her many times and loved every second.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the boat! I recently looked at Hooked in SF Bay - impressive boats.
ReplyDeleteI wonder - how fast do they go? Upwind, beam, downwind? They have a narrow IOR stern, but also such a powerful rig - do they surf downwind? Only with a heroic crew?
cheers
